Synopsis :

On February 6th, 1708, two privateer frigates left the port of Saint-Malo to travel on the Red Sea. The goal : to reach Arabia Felix (the current Yémen) and the port of Moka in order to open and formalize a new trade road to bring coffee into France.

Richard Hamon

Born in 1949 in Paris, Richard Hamon studied Litterature at university. After a master and a doctorat of the École Pratique des Hautes Études with Gaétan Picton and Roland Barthes, he taught Litterature and Sociology during two years. In 1977, he moved toward television field. He created in 1987 the company PROD. ETC. with which he directed a series of six films for the Health Ministry, about children's hospitalization. From the early 90's, he directs documentary films with a deep interest in political and historical topics.
